With the help of The United Arts Council, and the generous support of our members and families, the PTA continues to bring enriching experiences to the students at Oak Grove. It is our hope that these program supplement and enhance the incredible work that the teachers and staff do at Oak Grove every day!
Last week our 2nd graders learned about sound waves, electricity and magnetism with the original songs from Zak Morgan in The Science of Sound through Musical Stories.
This week our 5th grade students will have a (virtual) Assembly, Kids Make Comics!, on Monday, December 14th. Dave McDonald will introduce students to the art of telling stories in graphic form: comics and graphic novels. Students then participate through a drawing demonstration that teaches them how simple shapes are used to create super characters, and as “building blocks” to frame up the basic shape needed to draw more complex characters. Students bring paper, pencil and their imaginations to this program and will leave with tons of ideas for creating their own characters and comic stories!

Be sure to ask your children about these fun experiences!
