Fun Run Track 2, 3, & 4

Your Otterthon Fun Run will take place tomorrow, September 19!! We can’t believe how fast time has flown during our program with your incredibly smart students! We have thoroughly enjoyed being here with them and have seen them grow with character traits such as: Citizenship, Zest, Teamwork, Growth Mindset, and Integrity. Because the Fun Run is tomorrow that means tonight is the last night to connect your student with pledges before the Fun Run! If you do receive anymore pledges, be sure to register them on tonight! Tomorrow’s Fun Run will be outside at the field in the back of the school.

The times are:

K-2nd / 9:30-10:30am

3rd-5th / 10:45-11:45am

And thank you for supporting our children and school!

August 2018

Hello Oak Grove Families!!

We are so excited about the start of this 2018-2019 school year, and wanted to take moment to welcome our newest members of the Oak Grove family, and say welcome back the Otters we already know and love.

We are your new PTA board for this year, and we are thrilled and honored to work with you all.  We have worked hard this summer, planning for this new school year, and cannot wait to share some ideas we have with you all!   These include a number of new events designed to help foster a strong sense of community and the arts, encourage healthy living for all our Otters and their families, and make sure that everyone has the opportunity to feel included in the Oak Grove community.   Of course, we are planning on continuing some of our past favorite events, like Boosterthon and Book Fair, which are coming up soon; as well as Ollie Fest in the spring!

We hope that you will join us on the PTA this year!  You can sign up for a membership at   Our first general PTA meeting is coming up on Tuesday, August 7th at 4:15pm in the media center – we sincerely hope that you can make it!! If the timing of the meeting does not work out for you, that’s okay.  Stay up to date with all the latest events and information at the official Oak Grove PTA website –  You can also keep up with us on Facebook –

There are also a number of ways that you can still help support the work of the PTA, including volunteering or providing donations to different school/PTA events, helping to secure business sponsorships, you name it!  If you have an idea that you want to share with us, or know of a way to help support our children in their school community that we haven’t thought of, please do not hesitate to reach out to anyone of us, and we will be appreciative of anything that you feel you could offer.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be on your board, and we look forward to working with all our families, teachers and staff to make this the best year it can be!

Don’t miss your chance to score these amazing Ollie Fest baskets!

Want to win a Disney vacation, a night at The Umstead, gift cards, lottery tickets, and more?

These are just a few items to be raffled off and part of the silent auction this weekend at Oak Grove Elementary School! For the first time ever, there will be a “buy it now” cost on the silent auction baskets. That means you may want to come early to get your bid in for these awesome prizes! Another new opportunity to this year’s Ollie Fest is that each class made a special canvas. These will be part of a silent auction and the proceeds will go to the class teacher.

We will also have a raffle where your child could win lunch with their teacher, or other fun opportunities, like crochet lessons, learning basketball moves, do an administrative task with the principal, free lunches, feed Mrs. Dahloff’s fish for a week, bring friends to lunch with a teacher, and more!

Ollie Fest will be held from 11am to 3 pm on Saturday, March 3rd. There will be food trucks, face painting, games, bounce houses, fairy hair, cake walk (featuring lots of goodies–even gluten and dairy-free!) and more!
Thousands in raffle prizes & auction not to mention:

FOR $10 unlimited band! Wristbands and raffle tix are available today (March 2nd) in carpool lane and at the door. Final bids for raffles and auction is at 2:30 pm (unless auction item has reached “buy it now” cost).
